Transforming our food systems is a critical catalyst for stimulating prosperous futures– ones that are people-positive, nature-positive and climate-positive. This will require a systemic approach, considering interlinked goals of biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, food security and human wellbeing – from global to local scales, acknowledging social-cultural contexts and rights.

Wageningen University & Research have identified five entry points and associated interventions that could help ‘tip the food system’:

  1. Diverse fields and farms
  2. Biodiverse landscapes
  3. Connected communities
  4. Sustainable food and diet and
  5. Inclusive finance and trade.

Various combinations of interventions from different entry points can work synergistically to trigger and accelerate positive cascading chain reactions towards nature-positive and net-zero food systems. This panel discussion will explore exciting initiatives and consider collaborations to amplify and expand the influence of this work: What’s holding us back? Who else needs to be at the table? What are the genuine concerns? What are the tangible steps to move forward in diverse and synergistic ways?
