Transforming Food Systems for a Climate-Resilient Future
High-level opening
An estimated 830 million people go hungry. Meanwhile, food systems and the associated land use changes are responsible for a third of global greenhouse gas emissions. We need urgent action from all players and for the public and private sectors to align climate adaptation and mitigation goals to reach food security and stronger resilience.
In this session, a high-level panel will reflect on how climate change and recent crises have affected global food security, and the actions we must take to create a decarbonized, fair, and resilient food system.
