Financing Climate Resilient Agriculture
This session will demonstrate that smallholder farmers in developing countries are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. They are surviving on limited resources which they invest in subsistence farming to feed their families. This mode of farming is mostly rainfed and is increasingly becoming unreliable due to climate change.
Farmers are willing to adapt climate resilient agriculture; however, most of them cannot afford it due to the high upfront costs. These farmers need more resources to cope with climate change, and this session will explore potential avenues for funding.
